Marja has over 25 years of experience in conservation and sustainable development finance. Marja created and managed the team to design, build and market the 130-unit Grow Community, one of the first residential One Planet, zero energy neighborhoods in the U.S as well as The Walk, a Zero Energy multifamily project. Her team has provided branding, marketing and other consulting services to several solar companies including iTek Solar and Bluefrog Solar. She also worked with the Wildlife Conservation Society to guide investment strategies of Conservation trust funds in Latin America, Asia and Africa. More recently, Marja served on the leadership team of the global non-profit, the International Living Future Institute, in the role of Chief Program Officer, managing the Zero Energy, Zero Carbon and Living Building Challenge programs. Marja holds an Executive MBA from both Cornell and Queens University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Political Science and International Affairs from Oregon State University. Marja has studied five languages, including French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Mandarin.
